Sirmax Group at Fakuma 2024

At the 29th edition of Fakuma in Friesdrichesafen (Germany), International trade fair for plastics processing, Sirmax will focus on green products with a value proposition for several sectors, including automotive!

Upcycling for Automotive Interior Component

The Group is looking to the future by increasing its portfolio with new high-performance green products. Fakuma represents an opportunity for Sirmax to showcase its developments on sustainable materials for automotive market, particularly for aesthetic interior components such as door panels. Sirmax already supplies a range of certified products on an industrial scale that incorporate 10% to 30% post-consumer recycled material, depending on the application and specifications required. These products have successfully passed all internal laboratory tests and have been validated to meet the standards of leading European OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. This marks just the beginning of the Group’s upcycling journey in the automotive sector. Sirmax aims to further increase the recycled content in its compounds, with ongoing developments to achieve 40%, and the potential for an additional increase to 50% of the total.

A sustainable approach

The goal is to promote the transformation of waste materials and the conversion of polypropylene from urban separate collection into a new generation of high-performance compounds through the development of an advanced production system. This is the aim of Sirmax's "Aurora" project, a specific project born from the collaboration of several centres of excellence with the aim of upgrading raw materials derived from waste for the production of circular and sustainable materials.

And that's not all! Also with a view to sustainability, in addition to the latest certifications obtained by the Sirmax Group, a series of innovations in the field of safety and efficiency for the automotive market will be presented, two products that effectively combine high performance, low environmental impact and flame retardancy, with an example of application in charging columns for electric mobility.

60 years of success and continuous innovation

The Sirmax Group, a company specialising in the production of thermoplastic granules for various applications such as the automotive, household appliances, furniture, electrical, construction and many other sectors, is facing the challenges of the near future on the strength of its 60-year history, which it celebrated a few weeks ago.

The industrial plan for 2025-27, which has just been presented to stakeholders, envisages new investments totalling 30 million euros, in line with the multi-country, multi-product strategy outlined by Massimo Pavin, President and CEO, and with a view to internationalisation, always in the interests of sustainability. Among the objectives are the completion of the Group's 14th production plant in Hosur (India) by 2026, in addition to the other two Indian plants, and the expansion of the Anderson site in the United States.
